The new upcoming miniseries by Hulu is a satirical, comedic drama about Catherine the Great of Russia who was the longest reigning female leader in Russian history. While the series called The Great might be loosely based on historical facts, at first glance it looks promising with the leading roles played by Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult.
It is also important to note that with the writer Tony McNamara, who also wrote and produced the 2018 film, The Favourite, you can expect to see some of that humor in this new series. Aside from some humor we can expect to see some amazing costume design as well as some extravagant set design.
Needless to say, I have high hopes for the new series, as Hulu has continued to impress and amaze viewers with some very well-done and thoughtful new series recently. The Great premieres all 10 episodes on May 15th.
